Enhanced Oil Recovery (Modular Polymer Injection Facility)
EAfter application of primary and secondary recovery, still huge volumes of oil remains in the reservoir. The remaining oil-in-place is the target of enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Hence, EOR methods are used for recovering bypassed and residual oil in the reservoir.
JayBee in technical collaboration with CNOOC, has setup Oil India’s First Modular Pilot Polymer Injection (EOR) Facility in Sasoni, Assam which is capable of injecting 800 m3 of Polymer solution per Day. Polymer Injection consists of injecting polymer-augmented water into the oil formation in order to improve the sweep efficiency in the reservoir. The increased viscosity of the water causes a better mobility control between the injected water and the hydrocarbons within the reservoir.
